Welcome to Georgia! Upon arrival in Tbilisi, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is yours at leisure.

Tbilisi’s cobblestoned old town reflects a long, complicated history, with periods under Persian and Russian rule. Its diverse architecture encompasses Eastern Orthodox churches, art nouveau buildings, and Soviet Modernist structures. Looming over the city are Narikala Fortress, a reconstructed 4th-century citadel, and Kartlis Deda, the iconic “Mother of Georgia” statue.

Day 2 – Tbilisi

Today, you’ll set out on a walking tour to explore the lively capital of Georgia, Tbilisi. First, your private vehicle will take you to the starting point, where you’ll set off on a walking tour wandering through the old districts, structured like terraces, and stroll along narrow streets lined with colourful houses, patterned balconies, and striking examples of modern architecture. Begin at Metekhi Church (13th century), which offers magnificent views over old Tbilisi. A walk through the city’s winding streets will lead you to its main landmarks.

Afterwards, take a cable car up to the ancient Narikala fortress (4th century) to enjoy the panoramic views of the whole town and then walk down to the historical domed sulphur bath area.

(Note: The cable car may be closed for maintenance on certain days. If so, walking or a taxi will be the alternative.)

Finally, visit the Golden Fund of the Historical Museum (closed on Mondays), showcasing treasures that confirm Georgia’s legacy as the legendary Land of the Golden Fleece. After a day of discovery, you’ll be driven back to your hotel. (B)

What our adventurers are saying

A truly fabulous trip through the Caucasus. The itinerary was jam packed which was great as there is so much to see, hear and country to travel through. The guides were exceptional, both in their knowledge and their passionate delivery of the history and culture of their countries. All the accommodation was as described and, in some cases, better. The food was excellent. CC over delivered which is how a trip should be. Would definitely recommend and already thinking about doing another tour with CC. Note: this is a travel trip not a relaxing beach holiday! We sometimes travelled long distances, with early starts and long days but that is what is promised and that is what we signed up for. 5 stars.
Louise Horsley – The Caucasus

A BIG THANKYOU for an OUTSTANDING EXPERIENCE we enjoyed courtesy of your company and your amazing, super organised, attentive (nothing was too much trouble), nurturing, happy, extremely knowledgeable, entertaining, funny, and an absolute delight to partner and travel with! Of course, we speak of our guides Mariam Gogsadze and Turkan Zaurlu. The itinerary was well balanced, we love our wine, the restaurants and enjoyed every wine company we visited. We cannot fault anything, our two drivers, took great care, took no risks, the vehicles well presented, reliable and safe. We want to further explore the ‘stans’ in future and look forward to travelling with you again.

Rob Edwards – The Caucasus

Trekking through the Svaneti region and taking in the majestic glaciers and mountain ranges covered in delicate wildflowers, and ending in the UNESCO World Heritage village of Ushguli, only to
